According to a survey conducted by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, staple commodities are those items that are essential for the daily consumption of the people in a country. These include grains, roots, tubers, and vegetables. These can be fed to animals as well as consumed as human food, as they are the only source of most nutrients for this group.

Agriculture plays an important role in human existence, but also faces many challenges. To be successful, it requires the existence of many elements, some of which are economic goods, while others are basic needs of the people. These goods are called staple commodities, so it is essential to know their market conditions to manage them properly.

In my blog I want to talk about “Staple commodities” or things that are basic for most people. I will also talk about something that I have not written about in a while, which is “food insecurity”. I will be able to make a little bit of a comparison between my blog and the food insecurity blog. I will also talk about my life and my blog.

Cereals (such as rice, wheat, maize, millet, and sorghum), starchy tubers or root vegetables (such as potatoes, cassava, sweet potatoes, yams, or taro), meat, fish, eggs, milk, and cheese are examples of staple foods.
