If you’ve ever been curious about whether McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce is vegan, then you’ve come to the right place! After all, you can never have enough food facts, right?

If you’re a fast food fan like myself, you probably know that McDonald’s “sweet and sour” sauce is not vegan. There have been countless blogs and articles that claim that the sweet and sour sauce is not vegetarian, and therefore, not vegan. So, to make sure I was not missing any facts, I decided to do a little research on the issue. My research led me to a couple of websites that were close to finding the bottom of the issue.

Vegan sauces include Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Spicy Tomato Salsa, Sweet Chilli, Sweet & Sour, Sweet Curry, and BBQ (not to be confused with the Smokey BBQ, which contains honey).

In the UK, McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce is considered a gluten free food and therefore can be consumed by people with celiac disease. However, throughout the rest of the world, including many parts of the UK, McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce is not gluten free. This is because it contains wheat flour, and wheat is a product of the same mold that produces gluten. This is why McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce is not considered a gluten free food, and unfortunately, many people with celiac disease do not know about this.

There’s good news! Vegan sweet and sour sauce Sweet & sour sauce is usually deemed vegan-friendly, whether you make it at home or purchase it at the shop, since it contains no clearly stated animal ingredients. “What about McDonald’s?” you may wonder. Also, what is the sweet and sour sauce composed of at McDonald’s?

Is there dairy in McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce? The Honey Mustard Sauce, Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce, Signature Sauce, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Sweet Onion BBQ Sauce, and even the Big Mac Sauce are among the sauces available. Dairy-free options include the Cilantro Lime Glaze, Tartar Sauce, Mayonnaise Dressing, Ketchup, Mustard, Herb Vinaigrette Sauce, and McRib Sauce. Simply said, which McDonald’s sauces are vegan?
