Is e6000 safe on skin? |

The short answer is no.

“In a word: No. That’s right, some folks have told me that e6000 is safe on skin. I’ve seen numerous sites on the Internet that say that the glue is safe. That’s simply not true. Yes, it does have a low toxicity rating, but that only applies to ingested amounts.  The fact is, e6000 is capable of including arsenic in its formula. Ingested amounts are not considered when determining toxicity. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has classified e6000 as a “Class I carcinogen” – the most toxic rating you can get. The EPA considers e6000 to be “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.” It’s not a pretty story. ~~

Girl Scout cookies are one of the most popular treats of the holiday season. But, what happens to them after they’ve been eaten? From our experience with e6000, we have found that there is no need to waste your money on a food-grade adhesive like that.

So, yeah, don’t put E6000 on your hands before eating a sandwich. If you’re going to use a lot of it, put on gloves, do it in a well-ventilated area rather than a closet, and acquire a respirator if your exposure is going to be lengthy. Don’t be concerned; just wash your hands.

Is e6000, therefore, safe?
