Is a FoodSaver worth it? |

Does your food have that freshness and taste that you just can’t get from a Ziploc bag? Is your fruit slipping through the cracks because it has gone bad? If so, a FoodSaver could be the solution to your problems. These vacuum sealers make it possible to store food without the use of plastic bags, which can often be difficult to get out of.

When you are hungry it’s the worst time of all. It’s the moment when you’re desperately wishing to eat but you don’t want to because you know you would feel bloated and uncomfortable. It’s the moment you’re not sure if you should pick up that slice of pizza or a bag of chips, but don’t want to go without either because of the hunger pain.

FoodSavers are a great piece of kitchen equipment, but many people I have talked to are intimidated by the word “foodsaver”, and think it is a mass-produced, cheap brand. Then I would ask them to show me the food saver they have. Their answer is usually something like “Well, I don’t have one, but my friend has one”, so I would think twice about buying one.. We use Zip-lock freezer bags for general freezing, often in combination with saran wrap and/or butcher paper. The freezer bags may be used many times and are available at CostCo for $10 apiece.
