Tastiest Foods in Video Gaming History

Be it cooking for coin collection, gobbling morsels for better health, or chucking back the elixirs for additional powers; food is a vital aspect of video games. From the polygon dishes in Final Fantasy to Pac-Man’s cherries, foods have graced video games for decades.

While one might think lowly of them, foods lend a hand in building the player’s video gaming world. Below are the best delectable food moments in the history of video games.

Mushrooms in Super Mario Bros

This is probably the most popular snack among video gaming fans. Luigi, or Mario, feeds on this spotty toadstool to double their size. With a bigger and stronger body mass, they will have a better chance to trample Koopas and Goombas.

At first, it seemed a tad odd that one of Mario’s many best friends was a mushroom – let’s not think too deeply about that, though.

Cake from Portal

It’s more of a Schrodinger’s desert. This chocolate cake is offered to protagonist Chell upon completing the test chambers in the video game. However, it has never been clear whether the chocolate cake truly exists.

Since you are less likely to receive a slice of the cake after completing the game, the phrase “The cake is a lie” was coined as a meme after Portal’s debut.

The cake from Portal might be a lie. But guess what? There are plenty of food-themed games you can play for real money online. Find a safe online casino with slots like Chilli Hunter and Fruit Zen, and you won’t just play them for fun. You could also win money.

Roast Chicken in Streets of Rage

The majority of the foods in video games are meant to replenish the characters’ energy. That notwithstanding not all game developers have found a realistic way of incorporating food delicacies into their storylines.

If you ever find yourself low in health when playing this classic from the ’90s, try a few trash cans in the hope of finding tasty roast chicken. The assumption was that people were fond of leaving roast chicken meals hidden around the city.

While scavenging from trash cans is not the best way to find a meal, it was considered an adventure in the ’90s.

Bread in I Am Bread

I Am Bread is considered one of history’s maddest video gaming ideas. The storyline is the adventure of a slice of Bread in a dedicated mission to turn itself to toast. Whenever it gets into contact with something that it shouldn’t, like the floor or bugs, it becomes less edible, and you are less likely to win.

Later updates in the game incorporated different bread varieties like baguettes and bagels. You can never have enough of weird sentient bread, can you?

Chorus Fruit in Minecraft

Having launched in the early 2000s, Minecraft was a great phenomenon, especially among teenage gamers who were presented with a world designed to engage them to do whatever they liked.

The main agenda of the game was to do whatever it took to keep your character alive. This included feeding them with chorus fruits, which had the side effects of random teleportation – that’s quite fascinating, isn’t it?

Iguana on A Stick in Fallout

The Fallout series often delivers a gloomy view of the future, with a nuclear catastrophe decimating the world, leaving behind a bloodthirsty and mutated population. In such a world, you can bet that food cannot be in a luxurious supply, and you have no option but to create food from what’s available.

One of the most popular snacks to help replenish your energy in the game is a baked iguana skewer.

Burritos in Overcooked

Since its debut, Overcooked has been a favorite among players due to its addictive and immersive gameplay. Your character is put in charge of a kitchen and is expected to prepare meal orders before time runs out.

Some dishes are easy to prepare, with just a few ingredients. However, others are more complicated with heavy recipes such as burritos.

Cluckin’ Bell in Grand Theft Auto

The GTA series has been of the best action-filled video games in history. The game has grown from low quality to state-of-the-art graphics, with the latest version being highly thrilling and immersive.

As the game’s developers worked on enhancing the graphics, they were also keen to incorporate restaurants and canadian online casino free spins no deposit where characters can grab foods and snacks, such as Clickin’ Bell and Burger Shots and gamble.

Dubious Food in Breath of the Wild

When not unearthing treasure or slaying Bokoblins, you can put your cooking skills to the test. Get the perfect combinations for the ultimate rewards with sumptuous dishes that will replenish your character’s life.

In addition, eating the food can also bestow you with special or additional powers. However, if you mix the ingredients wrongly, you will have dubious food.

Anything in Final Fantasy XV

Not many video games will make the food look as appetizing as you might want it. The latest Final Fantasy makes its delicacies look incredible.

Having put in countless hours of programming to design the perfect dishes, the food in Final Fantasy XV looks so realistic that you might want to grab it from your screen.

Sushi in Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido

This is an impeccably prepared and presented colorful dish with different choices. Eating food is a great way to replenish your energy and multiply your power when playing the game.

Sushi in Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is quite a delicacy; you will get hungry by its thought alone!

The Black Forest Cake in Portal

The cake is best for players with a sweet tooth. The Black Forest is a great post-game delicacy. While your character enjoys the cake, you will have no option but to feast your eyes on one of the most iconic cakes in the history of video games.

Pizza in Stardew Valley

Food is a necessity to survive in Stardew Valley. With pizza being a favorite for most people, the game’s developers were quick to incorporate it into the gameplay.

Stardew’s pizza will definitely catch your interest. The dish is delicious enough to keep Shane going back for more.

Everything in Battle Chef Brigade Deluxe

The game offers mouth-watering foods that no player would resist. With impeccable graphics, you might even mistake the delicacies for real food.

The developer put mad to focus on a variety of dishes, making Battle Chef Brigade Deluxe one of the most salivating video games in history.
