How to write an essay about food?

When learning English, attention is often paid to topics that are related to everyday life – my family, my hometown, my favorite food, etc. However, one phrase, “My favorite food is …” sounds quite banal, so in this article, you will learn about how you can tell about your favorite dish in English interestingly and creatively. As a student, I struggled with academic writing, so I contacted qualified writers who could write a paper for me at WritingAPAper online. This way, I was sure that I would get high grades for my essays.

How to create an essay about your favorite food?

You can start your story with some general phrases, for example, “It’s hard for me to single out one favorite dish, but most of all I like the pasta with meat.” Or you can start by saying, “There are so many wonderful dishes, but my personal favorite is…”

Secondly, you can tell everything you know about your favorite dish: who cooks it, whether it’s homemade or ordered from a restaurant, how often you eat it, whether it’s healthy food, etc.

Third, tell us why you like it. Perhaps because of the speed and ease of cooking, because of some specific taste, because of who is preparing this dish, etc.

Well, at the end, you can also say some general phrases, for example, “That’s why I love this dish.”

To make it easy for you to tell about your favorite food, if necessary, make preparations in advance and memorize them if you can’t do it right away. For example, you can look up the historical data on the origin of the food, or maybe the story of the person who first cooked it.

Food, as well as water, is a source of human vitality. We need to eat nutritious and balanced diet to be healthy and energized. The same rule works for other species of animals too. But still, it is not so much the meal itself that is important for people, as the ritual associated with this action.

Therefore, we can enjoy food: to get real pleasure from this process, and not just satisfy our appetite.

I don’t like snacking on the go and hasty lunches. The nutrition of the meal itself is crucial for me. So, going to school, I always have breakfast with my family. Mom traditionally cooks porridge and sandwiches. On the table, we usually have a teapot and a bowl of sweets. During the meal, we talk, discussing our plans.

Without such a ritual, it would be difficult for me to start my day because such a joint pastime unites us with our parents and creates a good mood in the morning. That’s why it’s easier for me to get up ten minutes earlier to have a leisurely breakfast with mom and dad and not just eat a sandwich and run to school.

I am not very whimsical in food, but I never refuse to try a new dish. For this reason, I like to go with friends to cafes where Italian food is prepared or visit Japanese restaurants.

The aesthetic appearance of the dishes is also of great importance to me. At home, mom always tries to decorate the common plate with salad, my porridge, or dad’s scrambled eggs in some unusual way. When I come to a café or restaurant, I also try to choose food that looks beautiful.

I don’t like to eat alone and, frankly, I rarely observe the well-known rule: “When I eat, I am deaf and dumb.” I like to share my food impressions with friends or parents and have an interesting conversation at the table.

How do you perceive the word “food”? Many people have been discussing it for a long time, and there are several contradicting opinions on the topic.

Most people would agree that we eat to get enough energy to complete our daily tasks. Although, no one ever eats the same food every day. Moreover, food is not just a set of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, and there is also an emotional attachment to food. Food is a very social thing, it’s the way to connect with other people express love.

I’m not obsessed with food, but for me it’s definitely way more than simply fuel. My eating routine is very basic. It consists of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but sometimes I have a few snacks between meals. I choose to eat balanced nutritious meals most of the time, so I prefer lots of fruits and some kind of grain for breakfast. In addition, I add a source of healthy fats to my breakfast, like hemp seeds, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds. I also have a warm drink like tea or hot cocoa along with my morning meal. For lunch, I usually go to the cafeteria at school, so I grab whatever they serve on that day.

For dinner, my whole family gathers for a meal. It starts whenever my parents come back from work. We mostly eat homemade food prepared by mom. She is a great cook, usually she serves a vegetable stew with fish or poultry. My culinary talent is not that great but when I’m in the mood, I can cook something nice. If I cook, I go for a dessert or pizza.

I don’t eat fast food that much, but when we gather with friends on the weekend, I can grab a pizza. Thus, I simultaneously enjoy delicious food and socializing with loved ones. My friends mostly order burgers, juices, or any other soft drinks.

Food is here for us to be enjoyed, but it should never be the primary source of happiness in life.

It is very easy to tell about your favorite food in English, and at the same time, you can make this story very interesting. “My favorite food is … – is one of the most useful topics in spoken English, as it helps to develop communication skills on everyday topics. The examples presented in this article will help you to compose your own story about your favorite food. If you attend a restaurant or café, try to leave customer feedback, this is extremely helpful for the employees of a restaurant.
