If you are an animal lover, then there is no better feeling than watching your pig grow up with you, rooting for it in the show ring, and planning the time when you will be able to take home your own pet.

I recently did a show pig adventure that included the following:  numerous days of traveling, a trailer full of pigs, not one morsel to eat all day, no showers, no Wi-Fi, no indoor plumbing. And it cost me $1,000—so I thought I’d share how much it actually costs to raise a pig.
