When it comes to food, the cold is a big deal. When we spend so much of our time at work, we crave the feeling of our hands in something hot and our stomachs rumbling with turkey and stuffing. When we go out for dinner, we like to feel that our food is still warm when it gets to our plate. Chances are, you’ve been there.

We all have the same basic rule: don’t keep food too warm. If you’ve ever had a cold bowl of soup, or a la carte cold pizza, you know what I’m talking about. But the question is, how do you keep food warm without resorting to heating it up? The answer is surprisingly simple: there’s nothing wrong with keeping food at room temperature.

When you set a plate on a table, you always want to get those steamy, toasty flavors and aromas to come to the surface of the food.
