If you’re using a non-waterproof white acrylic paint, you probably know that the paint will eventually start to chip off. And since you’re probably using a paint that dries very quickly, you’ll need to buy more paint—or switch to a faster drying paint—to keep up with the chipping.

Taking this into account, what liquid white does Bob Ross use?

Because oil paint is often composed of linseed oil, pigment, and a binder/emulsifier to keep the oil and pigment together, making liquid white using pure pigment (titanium dioxide), linseed oil, and something like white beeswax should be possible.

Apart from the aforementioned, what are other alternatives to liquid white? To use titanium white, just dilute it with linseed oil. To get a creamy consistency, combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl. To make this handmade media, some painters use equal amounts linseed oil and Turpenoid (or turpentine). Everyone has their own formula that works well for them and their particular skill.

Second, what is the difference between Gesso and liquid white?

Gesso is not the same as liquid white! You don’t want to combine your oil paints with gesso since it has an acrylic foundation. Before applying any oil paint or media on top of the gesso, make sure it’s fully dried.

For acrylic painting, what is liquid clear?

Liquid Clear (also known as Magic Clear under another brand name) is a base coat that should be put to the canvas before any color is applied. You’ll be painting wet-on-wet right away, which is essential to the Bob Ross painting technique.
