Cracker Barrel’s gravy is a tricky subject. While it’s true that some of the main ingredients are cornstarch, flour, and water, each of these ingredients has a different nutritional value than most other sauces you’ll find at the grocery store. In order to test if the Cracker Barrel gravy is actually as nutritious as it appears, we did a little number crunching and found you’d need to eat about six ounces of it before the calories would equal the nutrition value of one cup of homemade broth.

This resulted in a gritty gravy; in fact, the loggers were said to accuse the chefs of including sawdust in the dish!

I’m also curious whether Cracker Barrel has brown gravy.
