Can you shred carrots in a Vitamix? |

As I was making my Vitamix, I wondered if it was possible to shred carrots in it. The Vitamix is a blender that is used to make healthy smoothies, soups, sauces, and more. It is both a good and bad thing, because it is one of the only blenders I’ve ever used that will fit in the dishwasher. The only bad thing about the VitaMix is that it uses blades. So, when I was wondering if I could shred carrots in the VitaMix, I had to stand there and cut them up free hand.

I’ll confess, I bought my Vitamix to make bread. It was a very long time ago—back in the days when I thought carbs were the enemy. I’d be lying if I said bread wasn’t a frequent part of my dinner meals, but I also happily enjoyed carrots and other veggies in my salads (which are both higher in fat than carbs).

There are a lot of different tools that you can use to make your dish. Some are better than others, and if you have a Vitamix, you’re probably wondering if you can actually shred carrots in it. This video will show you how.

I use my VitaMix to shred the carrots. Simply chop a few carrots into baby carrot size if you have one. Turn the VitaMix on at Variable 4 with the VitaMix empty. If you don’t have a VitaMix, a food processor or a hand grater will suffice.
