Can eating old carrots make you sick? |

A few weeks ago, I bought a bag of carrots at my local supermarket. I paid $1.49 for them. I also paid $2.69 for eggs from my local poultry farm. This is the question I chose for my blog post today. I think that prices for food products are far too high. I think the government should be doing something about that.

It’s hard to believe that a green vegetable could make you sick, but it’s true. In fact, a carrot that is 50 years old could make you sick. Do you know why? Because carrots sweat. That’s right, they sweat—no, not in the sense that you sweat when you’re out running, but in the sense that the carrots produce a fungus that poisons their food. It’s not enough to make them taste bad, however. No, they have to make you sick, too.

I have been eating some old carrots and found that they are very delicious and healthy. However, there has been controversy about the effects of the long-term consumption of old carrots since both the health benefits and the negative side effects have been discussed in medical journals.
