5 Symbols of Luck From Around the World

If you believe in luck, then you won’t want to miss out on these top 5 symbols of luck from all around the world. It doesn’t matter whether you like to gamble or whether you like to simply try your luck at the casino in your local area from time to time because these lucky symbols are not just synonymous with the world of gambling; they apply to luck in general across different countries.

Cornicello (Italy)

The Cornicello is an Italian horn, and it is normally used to try and repel the evil eye. This tradition is actually still present. The main people who choose to use this charm include pregnant women or nursing mothers, as it gives them the chance to keep their babies safe. A lot of other people use this charm as they believe that it is going to keep their marriage happy. The evil eye is said to target relationships as well as marriages.

The Gambling-Inspired Four-Leaf Clover (Ireland)

It can be very difficult for you to find a four-leaf clover. If you have ever found one, then you are bound to have a stroke of luck. In some cultures, it is important to know that the shape is considered to be unlucky. Of course, if you look at Ireland, however, then you will see that it is, in fact, a masculine number and that the shape is a cross along the four sides.

The main thing that you have to remember about this is that it represents both hope and faith. If you look at a lot of Irish slots, you may notice that this is the only popular lucky charm for gambling, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a slot game without it if you are playing one with a leprechaun theme.

Dala Horse (Sweden)

Dala is short for Dalecarlian. These horses were carved by those in Sweden so that they could pass a bit of the time. This was, of course, a very long time ago. One thing to take note of is that in Sweden, horses are considered to be holy animals and they are in fact a symbol of both strength and dignity.

The Dala horse is also quite expensive, and you would normally be paying quite a high price for something like this if you traveled to the country. People usually end up buying the unpainted version of the horse and they put the decorations on themselves. The Dala horse is also a somewhat unofficial symbol for Sweden as well which is interesting, to say the least.

Dream Catcher (US)

The dream catcher is actually a very popular symbol of luck in the US. This is especially the case for the Chippewa people. These are a group of Native Americans, and they believe that it is a great way for them to protect themselves. If you have a very hard time getting to sleep at night or if you find that you get continuous nightmares, then hanging a dreamcatcher in your bedroom will help you to trap them, and this can make room for good dreams to occur.

The best thing about this is that it can help you to wake up feeling refreshed. It is said that any nightmares that are caught by the dream catcher will disappear by morning. Of course, Native Americans also believe that this brings them good luck as well, which is super interesting when you look at its history of it and how it has helped to influence everything so far.

Elephant (Thailand)

Elephants are also a big symbol of luck. If you look at various parts of Asia, you will soon see that the elephant is a symbol of luck, but it is actually very dominant in Thailand. The one thing that you need to know about the elephant symbol is that it is a symbol of wisdom, power, and also stability. If you happen to have an elephant statue that faces the door, then your home will have a lot of good luck.

This is the main reason why a lot of business owners who live in Asia find themselves putting elephants at the doorway to their stops. The trunk should be up at all times so that good luck can occur, which is why when you pay a visit to any Asian country, you will see that a lot of the elephants have this design so that this can be facilitated.
