Zaxby’s is an American fast food chain of restaurants specializing in chicken fingers. It was founded in 1990 and currently has over 500 locations across 12 states in the United States. For those of you who are peanut allergy sufferers, one of your most pressing questions might be whether or not Zaxby’s uses peanut oil.

It is important to note that each Zaxby’s location is independently owned and operated, so there may be variations on what kind of oil each location uses for their cooking procedures. However, the general answer to the question about whether or not Zaxby’s uses peanut oil is no. Peanut oil is not used at any location of Zaxby’s as its primary cooking component, but it may use other nut-based oils such as sunflower seed oil or sesame seed oil which could potentially trigger an allergic reaction in some people with nut allergies. Therefore it is important to always check with a restaurant manager before ordering anything off the menu at any given location.

What is Zaxby’s?

Zaxby’s is an American regional fast-food chain that was founded in 1990 and operates primarily in the Southeastern United States. The chain is known for its prepared-at-order chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, and salads. With more than 800 locations across 17 states, Zaxby’s has become a popular choice for quick service dining.

When it comes to their food preparation methods, Zaxby’s states on their website that they use 100% peanut oil to cook all of their dishes. The peanut oil is cholesterol free and made from all-natural ingredients. Additionally, it is produced without any artificial trans fat or modified fat vegetables oils like canola or soybean. This makes Zaxby’s a great choice for customers who might have allergies or who are looking for an alternative to animal products when it comes to cooking oils.

What is Peanut Oil?

Peanut oil, also known as groundnut oil, is a mild-flavored vegetable oil derived from peanuts. It is commonly used in cooking and associated with many cuisines due to its distinctive flavor and nutritional benefits. Peanut oil has a high smoke point, which makes it ideal for deep-frying foods. It is also often used to dress salads, marinate meats and cooked dishes, as well as used as part of stir-fries.

Peanut oil is composed of approximately 78% monounsaturated fats such as oleic acid (the same fatty acid found in extra virgin olive oil). Polyunsaturated fats such as linoleic acid make up 16% of the peanut oil’s content and are known for their numerous health benefits.

The lightness in texture and mild nutty flavor of peanut oil makes it a great choice for cooking and baking alike. The taste does not overpower other flavors, meaning that the important aromatics in dishes can remain intact without the interference of an overly strong flavor profile from the peanut oil itself.

Given its neutral taste and versatility, many restaurants rely on cooking with peanut oil; this includes Zaxby’s restaurants based primarily throughout the southeastern United States. Zaxby’s claims to fry its food exclusively in 100 percent pure peanut oil which was proudly sourced solely from U.S. growers located right here in America. When eating at Zaxby’s you can rest assured knowing you are being served quality food prepared using an all-natural product!

Does Zaxby’s Use Peanut Oil?

Zaxby’s is one of the most popular fast-food chains in the US, and one of the biggest questions asked by consumers is whether or not Zaxby’s uses peanut oil. Peanut allergies are a major concern for many people, so it is important to know whether or not Zaxby’s is using peanut oil in their food. The answer to this question is a bit complicated, but in this article we will dive into what we know about Zaxby’s and peanut oil.

Zaxby’s Ingredient List

It is important for those with peanut allergies to know the ingredients in foods they buy and consume, including Zaxby’s menu items. While specific ingredients used in Zaxby’s foods change from time to time, their current list of ingredients is as follows:

-Canola oil
-Coconut oil
-Corn oil
-Cornmeal
-Flour tortillas
-Grape seed oil
-Honey mustard salad dressing base
-Palm kernel oil
-Seasame seed butter spread (tahini)
-Vegetable oil blend (soybean, corn and/or safflower oils)

As this ingredient list shows, Zaxby’s does not use peanut or peanut oil in any of its menu items. For those with severe peanut allergies or sensitivities it is important to double check labels for cross contamination warnings due to products being manufactured in a facility that processes peanuts.

Zaxby’s Allergen List

Zaxby’s is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience for all of their guests. To help inform individuals with allergies and dietary restrictions, Zaxby’s has compiled an Allergen Menu listing all allergens in the food served. It is important to note that this list does not include all ingredients used in the preparation of our product and traces of allergens may still be present in menu items.

Common allergens found at Zaxby’s include eggs, milk, wheat, soybean oil and peanuts. These ingredients may be found in some food items such as chicken tenders and salads that are prepared on shared equipment. Peanut oil is used for some cooking-applications at Zaxby’s; however, peanut oil is not generally used to fry foods due to cost-concerns. If you have concerns or allergies related to peanuts or peanut oil, we recommend that you avoid dishes fried at Zaxby’s. It is best to always refer back to the Allergen Menu which lists common allergens included in our menu items; please note that due to supplier alterations beyond our control, menu ingredients may change occasionally without notice.

Other Sources

Although Zaxby’s does not use peanut oil for deep-frying, some restaurants still utilize the ingredient in their recipes. For instance, some establishments cook their french fries and potato chips in peanut oil for an added level of flavor.

Other sources of peanut oil may include a variety of processed foods such as granola bars, snack mixes, crackers and baked goods. Some snacks that contain peanuts may also contain traces of peanut oil. It’s best to verify with the manufacturer before consuming any of these items if you have a nut allergy.

In addition to using peanut oil, Zaxby’s utilizes other vegetable oils such as sunflower and canola oils in some recipes. The company has indicated that these ingredients are used in combination to ensure food safety, flavor profile and enhanced nutrition for its customers.
