Some coffee lovers may prefer buying their favorite coffee from a nearby café instead of brewing it at home. But what happens on days that you can’t make it to your go-to coffee shop? Or on mornings when the queue is ridiculously long? Not to forget, buying coffee daily may also cost you a lot.

So, if you are someone who regularly starts the day with coffee and don’t want to keep spending your time queuing or going to expensive coffee shops, here are some homemade coffee recipes to try.

Iced Coffee

This is the easiest recipe to try at home. With this recipe, you will get your caffeine fixed in no time. Plus, you will only need a few ingredients to make this drink.

Ingredients

– Half a cup of warm water

– One sachet of instant coffee

– 1 teaspoon of sugar

– 1 cup of ice

– 6 fluid ounces of full cream milk, or any milk

  3. Then, pour the foamy coffee into another cup of ice and add the milk. Adjust the taste according to your own preference.
  4. Top the drink with chocolate syrup if you want to, or enjoy it as it is.

Spiced Mocha

This easy recipe is very suitable for a morning pick-me-up. Plus, the prepping time will only take about 10 minutes.

Ingredients

– 1 tablespoon of powdered non-dairy creamer

– 1 ½ teaspoon of sugar

– 1 teaspoon of instant coffee

– 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder

– ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger

– ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

– ¼ cup of low-fat milk

– 1 cup of hot water

– Whipped cream

Instructions

  1. In a cup of hot water, add the instant coffee and sugar, then stir well. Alternatively, if you don’t have hot water, you can put a mug of water into the microwave and heat it for 20-30 seconds.
  2. Then, stir again with the creamer, cocoa powder, ground ginger, and cinnamon.
  3. When the ingredients are fully mixed, pour in the milk.
  4. Garnish the drink with some whipped cream, and you can also sprinkle some ground cinnamon on top of the whipped cream.
  5. Enjoy the drink!

Cold Brew with Almond Milk

Cold brew coffee is not as simple as plain iced coffee; it’s more than that. Plus, it contains twice as much caffeine compared to regular brewed coffee. Why almond milk, you ask? Almond milk has a natural sweetness that perfectly complements the sweetness and lower acidity of cold brew. Perfect combination!

Ingredients

– 4 cups of room-temperature water

– ½ coarse ground coffee beans

– 2 cups of almond milk

– A cup of ice

Instructions

  1. Mix the water and ground coffee in a carafe, then stir them.
  2. Once the coffee is ready, cover the carafe and let it sit for around 12 to 14 hours.
  3. After the 12 to 14 hours have elapsed, place the carafe in the refrigerator for another 6 hours.
  4. Then, you can pour the cold brew into a cup of ice and add the almond milk according to your taste.
  5. Your coffee is ready to be served.
