2009 YRI Virtual Food
Drive Results
The 2009 World Hunger Relief Campaign is underway at the YRI Dallas, Louisville and Irvine RSC locations! All three campuses pulled together for a combined Virtual Food Drive to raise funds for the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), a hunger relief organization that serves 13 counties in Northern Texas. The NTFB touches over 500,000 individuals each month through their on-site meal programs and food pantries. With these tough economic times and a 45% increase in the total amount of food distributed over the past four years, there has been a growing need for their services.

This year our YRI employees showed their commitment by splitting into 8 teams for a friendly competition to raise funds for the NTFB. Kudos to our team leaders for their extra efforts in making this drive a huge success: Rhonda, Ted, Kim, Leslie, Stephanie, Anna, Anne, and Scott. While the competition remained friendly, we did have a guest team leader brought in as a secret weapon…"Mikie the Mattress Sale Monkey." We can see from the image that Mikie even leaned on the founder of Taco Bell for a little extra support! The pleasant witty remarks back and forth drove results even higher!
Thanks again to our team leaders and all RSC employees for a record breaking year, with a 206% increase from 2008! The total amount raised came to $6,637.95, which equates to 26,550 meals!
